InYourSuitcase privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

InYourSuitcase is a trip-planning app made by KWE (KWE, Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, M2 3WQ), a sole trader based in the UK. KWE is responsible for the personal information the app uses. Contact: support@kwe.life.

What we collect

Trip chat, calendar and households

Trip chat: messages in a trip chat are visible to the people on that trip. You can delete your own messages, block another person, or report a message. If you report one we store the report (which message, the reason, your account ID and the time) so our team can review it.

Calendar link and shared calendar: you can create a private calendar link for your phone. It is a secret web address that shows your entries; anyone who has the link can see them, so keep it private, and email support@kwe.life if you need a link disabled. If you use the InYourHands master calendar and switch it on, our servers share your entries with InYourHands, matched by your verified email address.

Households, Premium and verification emails: If you belong to a household, the organiser's Premium or FamilyOS plan can give you Premium. We check this by matching your verified email address with the household. When you sign up with an email and password we send you an email to verify your address.

Places you have visited and Somewhere New

You can mark countries you have visited. We save the list on your account. When you ask Somewhere New for ideas, we send that list, the trip style you pick, and the month if you give one to Google's Gemini AI so it can suggest places you have not been. It is general guidance only. Check official sources for prices, entry rules and safety.

Your details shared between InYour apps

To save you typing the same things into each app, we keep one set of your basic details: your name, colour, region, units, preferred reminder time and the names, relationships and birthdays of people in your household that you choose to add. It is stored by InYourHands and matched by your verified email address. Each InYour app you use with the same email can read it, and only fills in details it does not already have. You edit or remove it in InYourHands under Settings, Your details, or by emailing support@kwe.life.

Phrasebook

The phrasebook remembers the language you picked and which phrases you have marked as said (for the stars). If you use "How do I say…?", the phrase you type and the language are sent to Google’s Gemini AI to translate it. The Say it button uses your device’s own speech voice.

How we use it

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information.

Legal basis (UK GDPR)

We use your information to provide the service you asked for (contract), to keep it secure and improve it (legitimate interests), and, where you choose optional features such as sign-in with Google or the AI planner, because you ask us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and the data linked to it, apart from anything we must keep by law.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, or object to how it is used. To do so, email support@kwe.life from the email address on your account. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Deleting your account

In the app, open Account and choose Delete my account. This deletes your account, your trips and everything linked to them straight away. You can also email support@kwe.life from the address on your account and we will do it for you.

Children

InYourSuitcase is for adults planning trips. It is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app where appropriate.

Visit counter

Our websites and web apps send one small request when a page loads, so we can count visits. It records only the day, whether the visit looks like a person or a bot, the website that sent you (or the campaign tag in the link), and which of our sites was visited. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not identify you.
